Metal & Wood Logo Sign

I was asked to make this custom logo sign for a local law firm. They wanted it to be modern but also have a vintage feel. The sign is made from 1/8” sheet metal and the frame is wrapped in 100-year-old reclaimed barnwood.

I started the project by making the frame out of 3/4” plywood. I attached a french cleat to the back of it and that is how it mounts to the wall (matching up to the other half of the cleat). I then wrapped the plywood in reclaimed barnwood to give it a more rustic feel.

I Teamed up with the guys at Molten Metal Works to help cut out the logo on their plasma table. The sign is made from 1/8” think sheet metal. I welded on some threaded standoff spacers to use when attaching the metal logo sign to the frame.

The onsite installation went pretty smooth with the easy of the french cleat system for mounting the sign to the wall.

If you would like to see the entire build process here is a video of me making this metal logo sign.
